Specialty Items

All of the gift items above exist because of a problem someone asked us to solve. Each one started as a little annoyance that didn't have a solution anywhere that we looked. A little design time and a few iterations to refine the result and a custom solution is born.

Tell us about a problem you are trying to solve, maybe we can help.

The Broken Mini-fridge
Mini-fridge Pin in Use

I bought a mini-fridge as a freshman in college. Within a month, one of the little pins that supported the freezer door shattered. I could not find a replacement part anywhere. As a college student, I couldn't come up with the money to replace the fridge even if I wanted to. I ended up with a hacky repair using a cluster of toothpicks jammed into place.

Years later, the toothpicks fell out again for the umpteenth time, and I thought about my 3D printer. I took some measurements of the unbroken pin from the other side of the door. After a little design and a quick print run, I had a replacement pin. The mini-fridge has never been better. Unlike the toothpick hack, this solution is just right.

Folding Closet Doors

Closet Wheel in Use

There is a fairly wide closet in our house that has a set of folding doors. Because they have been there for decades, they have a few problems. Most problems are small and fixed with a simple adjustment. But, there was one that was an annoyance. The movement of the doors is guided by a wheel that rotates in a track at the top of the door frame. This wheel fits on a pin at the top of the door.

At some point in the last decades, one of the two wheels went missing. I had looked for a replacement, but I could never find something that fit both the track and the pin on the door. So, I took measurements from the other wheel and printed a new one. The doors now open and close better than they have in years.

Don't throw it out. Fix it! Sometimes the only thing that prevents you from using something is a small replacement part that you can't find anywhere. It's about a half-inch long and shaped like an L but fatter at one end.

We can help design that item and print you a replacement.
